About us

The choir is affiliated to Making Music (formerly The National Federation of Music Societies) and is a member of Bromsgrove Arts Alive.

Members of the choir have taken part in many special events, some organised by Making Music West Midlands, for example performances for massed choirs of the Verdi Requiem and Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius at Symphony Hall in Birmingham, and various choral workshops in Bromsgrove and other local towns. Most recently choir members have sung in performances of Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man, and a recording for the BBC Songs of Praise at All Saints Church Evesham.

We also hold fundraising events such as bring & buy sales, quizzes, a weekly raffle and an annual dinner in the summer months.

The choir is under the musical direction of John Brierley.

At present we perform two concerts a year, one in the spring and one at Christmas.

We sing a wide selection of choral music, some of the great choral works and some not so well known to challenge us.

Some of our concerts are accompanied by orchestra, others by organ.
